The EU-funded Project “Further Support to Kosovo Institution in the fight against Organized Crime, Corruption and Violent Extremism” a Study Visit is being held is to provide support and capacity-building expertise to the Kosovo criminal justice institutions to allow them to more effectively recover the proceeds of crime; and to increase the number of money laundering prosecutions and convictions. Success in this area will assist Kosovo in its goal of greater EU integration.
The visit began with a visit to the Organised Crime Task Force (OCTF), where the delegation from Kosovo was introduced to the work of the Organised Crime Task Force and their experience in drawing up the Organised Crime Threat Assesment, Strategy and Action Plan.
Today, the delegation will take part in OCTF’s accountability meeting where senior law enforcement officials report to OCTF on the progress made towards achieving the targets set by the OC Action Plan.
The study visit will take place between 17 – 21 of September 2018 in Belfast Northern Ireland that will be led by the Northern Ireland Department of Justice.
