EU funded project “Further Support to Kosovo Institutions in the fight against Organized Crime, Corruption and Violent Extremism”

Today, the EU funded project “Further Support to Kosovo Institutions in the fight against Organized Crime, Corruption and Violent Extremism” held a Launch Event and presentation of the new Law on Extended Powers for Confiscation. Participants included the EU Ambassador to Kosovo, Ms. Nataliya Apostolova, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Abelard Tahiri, the Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Aleksander Lumezi, the Heads of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council and Kosovo Judicial Council, and representatives of the judiciary, prosecution and civil society. The Launch Event emphasized the importance of the new law in the fight against organized crime and corruption and included an overview of the proposed training and mentoring inputs to be delivered by the project over the coming months to local professionals, in cooperation with the Academy of Justice of Kosovo.
